Finding a space where I allow myself creative expression was difficult for me. For the longest time, music to me has been more about lyrics, melody and production. I found the portrayal of live acts/perforamnces to be the crucial part of the artist’s creative expression. Coming from a music-centred family, I became a photographer who documented rather than created. I enjoy bands such as: Bring Me the Horizon, Sleep Token, South Arcade, PRESIDENT, Dayseeker, Paramore, My Chemical Romance and Bilmuri, just to name a few. I am a nerd for cameras, fashion, music, vinyls and all things tech, with a natural gravitation towards metal/rock/punk/emo.

I recently graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA (Hons) in Photography. I spent my third year of university diving deep into the world of music and got to experience concert photography as well as doing portraiture with some local bands. I fell in love with music again over the last few years while I have been at university, and this is what drives my practice. Self-expression itself is an art form; I see it as a power to use to my advantage. This photo is from a project I created about my experience with feminine self-expression.
